This class is for dogs who have already attended the Introductory session.

You can join one class or many, it's up to you.
The class is £15 per dog
Your progress will be individual and therefore you can work at your own pace.
What do these sessions entail?
We will build on the skills you learnt during the beginners scent class.
You will progress to different scents and more challenging hidden locations.
This is suitable for any age of dog but you must be able to cope with dogs in a room together*.

What do I need to bring?
A settle mat / towel / bed / blanket - something your dog can sit on as their 'base' of operations. They will learn to return to this mat whilst they wait their turn or for instructions.
Treats - something your dog really enjoys as a reward.
We have both of these items to purchase, or your can bring your own.
Benefits of scent work classes
Mental and physical stimulation: Scent work challenges dogs to use their natural sense of smell to solve problems and search for hidden scents. It's a great way to keep them active and getting them to use their brain has many benefits.
Trust building: Scent work can strengthen the bond between you and your dog. It's such a fun thing to learn together and you can take your learnings home so that you can practice in the house and garden.
Confidence: Scent work can help dogs become more confident and optimistic. Dogs love learning and dogs love jobs!
Boredom relief: Scent work can help relieve boredom and anxiety in dogs. It uses their natural instincts and they will love working and learning with you.
What to expect in our scent work class
Basic odour recognition: Your dogs will learn to identify and recognise specific odours.
Searching skills: They will learn how to search for hidden scents.
Indication: They will learn how to communicate the location of a scent to you.
Where will the scent work class be based?
We will set up in our fully secure garden at Be More Bob. If the weather is against us, we will move the class indoors to our spacious basement.
Which dogs can take part?
Some breeds are bred to use their nose (think sniffer dog breeds like spaniels and beagles) however ALL breeds will enjoy learning this skill.
This course is suitable for dogs six months plus.
Please ensure your dog is fully vaccinated before you socialise them with other dogs.
What happens if I can't attend the class I booked?
You can move your booking to an alternative week. Scent work classes work with your dog's ability and progress, so you can attend any class.
Who runs the class?
Lucy is a dog trainer and a Scentwork UK Judge. Her knowledge and expertise will help you and your dog master a new fun skill.
