Getting the right fit is key to comfort, performance, and safety, especially with a lightweight, body-conforming range like Ruffwear Flex. Here’s how to make sure your dog gets the best possible fit first time.

How to Measure Your Dog
For the Front Range Flex Harness, measure:
Girth: Wrap a soft tape measure around the widest part of your dog’s rib cage, just behind the front legs.
If your dog falls between sizes, Ruffwear generally recommends sizing up for comfort and freedom of movement. However, this does depend on whether your dog:
a) has stopped growing
b) how big your dog's frame is compared to their length

For Flex collars, measure:
Neck circumference, allowing space for two fingers between the collar and your dog’s neck for a secure but comfortable fit.
Fitting Tips from Be More Bob
The harness should sit snug but not tight. No rubbing behind the legs or across the shoulders. It should not sit too far in to the armpits.
You should be able to fit two fingers under all straps (like you would a collar). No looser, otherwise the hard will ride around and up.
Check the fit after your first few walks, especially with a new harness, as materials can naturally settle.
For growing dogs or fluffier coats, leave a little room to adjust over time.
