Making friends, one letter at a time.
Bob has always believed that life is better when you meet people, have adventures and make someone smile.
So we thought… why not bring a little of that Bob spirit to your letterbox?
Plus, we LOVE receiving and sending physical mail and we hope you do too.
Welcome to the Be More Bob Pen Paw Club.
Think pen pals, but with a dog-loving twist.
You don't need to have a dog to join. You might have a much-loved four-legged friend, be waiting for your first dog, have grown up with dogs, or simply think the world is a better place with them in it.
The Pen Paw Club is about friendship, kindness, dogs, all pets, adventures and the simple joy of receiving something through the post.
🐾 How does it work?
It's really rather simple.
1. Join the club
Fill in our Pen Paw Club form and tell us a little about yourself.
We'll ask for your name, postal address, email address, whether you have a dog and a few things you enjoy.
Your postal address will only be used for the Pen Paw Club and will only be shared with the Pen Paw you're matched with.
2. Bob finds your Pen Paw
Every three months, Bob and Dolly get to work.
We'll match you with another member based on the information you've given us.
We'll try to find someone you'll have something in common with, but sometimes we might throw a little wildcard into the mix. After all, meeting people who are different from us can be rather wonderful too.
3. You'll receive your Pen Paw details
We'll email you to introduce your new Pen Paw and give you the information you need to send them something through the post.
4. Send something lovely
Over the next three months, send your Pen Paw at least one little piece of post.
It could be:
✉️ A handwritten letter
🐾 A postcard
📸 A photograph
🐶 A story about your dog
🌳 A recommendation for a favourite walk
🎨 A drawing
💌 Or simply something that you think will make them smile
Other ideas, a receipe, a tv programme you've enjoyed, just a story about what you have been up to lately, a story of any places you've visited lately, or would like to visit.
There is no set length, no need for perfection, no need to be a wordsmith - this is about sharing, not about hard work.
It doesn't need to be expensive. In fact, we'd rather it wasn't.
The magic is in taking a little time to think about someone you've never met and putting something in the post just for them.
5. A new Pen Paw every quarter
The club runs in three-monthly rounds, so you'll have four different Pen Paws each year.
We'll keep a record of previous matches so, wherever possible, Bob won't introduce you to the same person twice.
🐶 The Pen Paw Promise
The Pen Paw Club is built on the most important part of being more Bob:
Be kind.
When you join, you're promising to:
💌 Send one piece of post to your Pen Paw during each three-month round.
🐾 Be friendly, respectful and kind.
🔒 Respect your Pen Paw's privacy and never share their personal information with anyone else.
🎁 Remember that this isn't a gift exchange. You don't need to spend money or send expensive presents. A postcard or handwritten note is absolutely perfect.
❤️ Be patient. People have busy lives, holidays, work, families and occasionally forget which day it is. Give your Pen Paw a little time.
🚪 Tell us if you need to pause or leave the club. There is absolutely no guilt involved and no obligation, this is about having fun.
🌎 Can I join if I don't live in the UK?
Absolutely!
We'll do our best to match people within the same country where possible, but you can let us know whether you're happy to send or receive internationally.
Just remember that international post can take a little longer — and may cost a little more.
🐾 What if my Pen Paw doesn't write to me?
We really hope this doesn't happen, but occasionally life gets in the way.
If you've sent something and haven't heard from your Pen Paw, let us know at the end of the cycle - we will send a reminder.
We'll quietly check in with them and, if necessary, we'll do our best to make sure you're not left without a Pen Paw in future rounds.
We want this to be something that brings people joy, not something that creates pressure.
📮 A few important things
The Pen Paw Club is about connecting people, but you should only share information you're comfortable sharing.
By joining, you agree that Be More Bob can share your name and postal address with the Pen Paw you have been matched with for the purpose of the club.
Please don't include anything in your letters that you wouldn't be comfortable sharing with someone you've met through the club.
Be More Bob provides the introduction and matching service but isn't responsible for private communications or exchanges between members.
If someone makes you uncomfortable, behaves inappropriately or doesn't respect your privacy, please tell us and we will take it seriously.
NEVER EVER EVER EVER share financial information or any kind of sensitive information - we are all grown-ups and know how to behave sensibly. If anyone ever asks you for such information, please let us know immediately.

This isn't a dating club.
It isn't a networking club.
It isn't a subscription box.
It isn't about spending money.
It isn't about pressure or hard work.
And it isn't about selling you stuff.
It's about people, dogs, pets, family and love.
It's about finding someone you've never met, writing their name on an envelope and wondering where that letter will take you.
It's about discovering that someone hundreds of miles away also loves muddy walks, terrible dog jokes and a cup of tea after a long day.
It's about making someone's day.
Because that's what Bob would do.

Finally....if you like the sound of all this, but you don't wish to write to a stranger just yet, you can always write to us here, and we will keep a stack of letters at Be More Bob.
Those letters can then be picked up by any visiting pal to enjoy.
If you don't wish to share your address, remember not to include it in the letter. However, if you do wish to receive a reply, you can include your details.
